SHORT FILM - GROUP

Competition Format

This category is a group event and consists of one round only: Direct Finals.
A pre-announced theme will be provided for the Final Round.
All films must be created and presented in accordance with the given theme.
The winning short film will be screened at the finals.

Film Specifications

Genre: Dramatic, Emotional, Social Message, Thriller, or Comedy entries are permitted.
Duration: Films must be strictly between 6 and 10 minutes, including opening and closing credits.
Language: Films may be in English or Tamil.
Subtitles: English subtitles are mandatory for films that are not in English.
Format: Films must be submitted in MPEG-4 or AVI format.
Participants are recommended to include their Team Name, Company Name, and Contact Information during the submission process.

Eligibility

Team Composition

Each department may be represented by a team of 5 to 13 participants.
The team should consist of participants involved in the production of the film.

Originality

All entries must be original content created specifically for the competition.

Company Affiliation

At least 80% of the total cast and crew must be working for the company submitting the film.
Participants must be able to provide valid company identification when required.

Selection Process

All submitted films will be reviewed and evaluated by the judges/organizing committee.
Films will be shortlisted based on their adherence to the theme, storytelling, technical execution, originality, and overall impact.
The organizing committee reserves the right to determine the number of films shortlisted for the Final Round.

Don’ts’s

The film should not exceeds the prescribed 10-minute time limit and it should meet the minimum 6-minute duration.
The film should not contain vulgarity or obscene content.
The film should not content that encourages discrimination based on caste, gender, religion, or any other protected characteristic.
Films should meet the originality and eligibility requirements of the competition.
Participants are requested to follow the prescribed technical specifications for smooth evaluation.

Registration

There is no limit on the number of entries allowed per company.
All contestants must present their valid company ID cards during registration and verification.
Teams are advised to include their Team Name, Company Name, and Contact Information with their submission.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

The decision of the judges will be final and binding

Important Note – Competition Format

Note: The Short Film category will be conducted as a Direct Finals competition. There will be no Preliminary or Semi-Final round. All eligible and registered entries will be evaluated directly for the Final round based on the prescribed theme and judging criteria.
